As filter feeders, mussels need sufficient food particles in the water. Natureholic mussel feed is a finely ground special feed, which creates an optimal particle density in the aquarium. In the aquarium, mussels are quickly undersupplied without supplementary feeding and die sooner or later due to malnutrition, because the mussel draws the energy needed for its enormous filter work solely from its food, which in nature consists of suspended algae and microorganisms, among other things. Natureholic mussel feed provides your mussels not only fine food with balanced animal and vegetable components, but also the nutrients they need for healthy growth and a beautiful shell structure. - Garnelio

Beschreibung

Through a funnel-shaped opening mussels suck in the aquarium water and filter out the nutritious food particles, just like in nature. Long-term keeping of mussels in the aquarium is impossible without special nutrition, since hardly any suitable food particles are produced in the filtered tank. Mussels need besides nutrients a lot of minerals for shell growth. NatureHolic Musselfeed contains these urgently needed minerals in organic bonds, i.e. in a particularly readily available form, thus an optimal build-up of the mussel shell is guaranteed.

We deliberately do not use cheap animal meal or fish meal, but orient ourselves on the food that mussels also eat in nature. The protein content comes from insects, molluscs and crustaceans, from microorganisms and from suspended algae. For Natureholic mussel feed we have chosen a special mixture of trace elements and vitamins, which contains directly bioavailable organic mineral compounds. They are available to the organism without the need for conversion. Furthermore, it contains high quality montmorillonite, which can bind pollutants and pathogenic germs.

Gently spray the food into the current carrying it towards the mussel once or twice a day. This will keep the animal from collapsing its shells and allow it to filter at its leisure. Turn off the filter until the water is clear again.

Feeding recommendation: Feed 1-2 times a day as much as the animals take in a few minutes.

Question from: "Hello I do experiments on zebra and quagga mussel (experiments for my thesis). Do you know if these food is ok for theses organisms ? + Do you have an idea of the concentration/ the quantiy i have to provide per mussel and per dey ? Hello Nicolas, our musselfeed is a great source of nutrients for all mussels and can be fed to the mussels you wish to feed. The food is completely dry and without bacteria or living algae. The quantity is dependent on the amount of animals and the volume of water, we usually recommend feeding until there is a slight green tinge to the water and then feeding again once the water is completely clear.

Question from: "Ich habe ein größeres Aquarium mit flachwasser ist also nicht so tief, sind Pflanzen vorhanden und auch eine Wasserschildkröte die einen Filter benötigt. Wenn ich die Muschel füttere schalte ich den Filter einfach ab und warte bis sie gegessen hat? Darf ich den Filter nach 30 min wieder anschalten? "

Hallo Daniel, vielen Dank für deine Frage! Der Filter sollte auf keinen Fall länger als 45 Minuten aus sein. Wir füttern bei laufendem Filter, man muss dann ein klein wenig öfter den Filter putzen.

Question from: "Ich füttere 6 Teichmuscheln (alle 12-15 cm) mit dem Muschel feed. Ich habe leider keine Ahnung, ob ich das richtig mache. Ich warte grundsätzlich, bis möglichst alle offen sind und löse für die 6 Muscheln alle 2-3 Tage ca. 0.2g Muschelfeed mit etwas Aquarienwasser auf, es bleiben noch Körnchen, und füttere die Muscheln mit der Pipette. Einige „spucken“ es gleich wieder aus. Da sich das Wasser trübt und ich die Nährstoffe nicht im Filter haben möchte, schalte ich den Filter für ca. 1h aus. So können sie die restlichen Stoffe aus dem Wasser ziehen. Ist das so richtig? "
