SpiderShelter - shrimp/dwarf crab hiding place

The Spider Shelter comes in two different sizes. Thanks to the many openings, it is ideal for small to medium-sized crayfish and also for shrimp, which find shelter and protection here. Crayfish also like to hide in nature when they want to rest or retreat. Especially during and after molting it is important that they have a place to retreat.

This hiding place is handmade in Germany. It is made of dark brown fired clay and does not release anything into the water in the aquarium.

Thanks to the open shape, the animals can escape at any time if there is stress with a conspecific. The water can circulate well in the hiding place , there are no rotting spots. The lovingly designed surface has a beautiful structure, which gives the Spider Shelter a distinctly natural look.

This lattice igloo is ideal for planting with moss or perching plants. Sit-on plants such as Anubias or Bucephalandra are simply inserted into one of the openings in the dome, moss is super easy to tie on thanks to the many openings. Useful bacteria and biofilms can settle on the open-pored ceramic material , which on the one hand serve as food for the shrimps and on the other hand ensure good water quality in the aquarium.
