Various small snail cichlids from the genus Neolamprologus from Lake Tanganyika in East Africa specialize in empty snail shells as spawning dens. The cute little cichlids also use the snail shells as living caves.

Here you can buy snail shells from two pieces for your aquarium, which are perfect for snail cichlids from the shape and shell opening. It makes sense to offer your Neolamprologus snail cichlids a few more shells than you have snail cichlids, and also to put different sized snail shells in your cichlid aquarium with snail cichlids. That's why we offer different snail shell sizes in different quantities to choose from here in the store.

By the way, it does not matter that the snail species do not originate from Lake Tanganyika. Snail cichlids are fortunately not picky about their housing - the size and shape must roughly fit, then nothing stands in the way of a successful move-in of the little Neolamprologus.
