Shrimpwood - Clay cave for dwarf shrimp & dwarf crayfish

The thinner brother of the Craywood cave is the dark brown Shrimpwood. The Shrimpwood cave is also based on a natural hollowed out branch. It thus fits ideally into any aquarium furnished close to nature.

With this cave made of high quality ceramic you can either offer young crayfish of the genera Cherax, Procambarus and also the offspring of other large crayfish a great shelter or use it in a shrimp or dwarf crayfish aquarium. Of course, the Shrimpwood will also fit in an aquaterrarium with smaller crabs such as Geosesarma species.

All crustaceans are soft and vulnerable after molting and need a hiding place, for which they are very grateful. Dwarf crabs and crayfish are solitary creatures and need ways to get out of sight of their mates. Since the Shrimpwood Cave has multiple exits, there is no chance of a stressful situation arising because the animals can avoid each other.

Since the Shrimpwood cave is handmade, each piece is unique. So you can use several Shrimpwood caves or combine them with the slightly thicker Craywood cave without the aquarium looking boring and monotonous.

The Shrimpwood cave looks even more natural when planted with moss or plants.

The water-neutral Shrimpwood caves are hand-modeled and fired in Germany from high-quality clay. Their rough surface is an ideal settlement area for beneficial bacteria and other microorganisms. Pollutants are broken down here and water quality can improve significantly.
