Sea almond tree leaves / Catappa leaves - XL - 10 pcs

Medium size sea almond tree leaves XL are 25-27 cm long and are suitable for slightly larger aquariums of 40-70 liters capacity.
The leaves of the sea almond tree have a high content of tannins and humic substances and thus have an antibacterial and antifungal effect. They are used to support the treatment of acute infections or as a preventive measure. Humic substances make the aquarium water mucosa-friendly, can bind pollutants and thus support the health and vitality of the aquarium inhabitants  

Shrimp and snails like to graze on the leaves, and crayfish also like to nibble on them. When the leaf structure has been broken down by bacterial films (which is after 3-4 weeks), shrimp and snails will also eat the leaf itself.

The amber tone that the leaves impart to the aquarium water really makes the colors of the animals pop. It also keeps the water crystal clear.

Add 1/2 leaf per 40-70 liters of aquarium contents directly into the tank. It will float on top for a few more days, but will soon sink. We do not recommend scalding the sea almond leaves. They would sink faster, but valuable ingredients would be lost. When the leaf has given up all tannins after about 2 weeks, add a new leaf. The old leaves can be left in the aquarium as a source of food and fiber, they will be eaten over time.
