Oak branches 7st. - 10cm Delicious & Decorative

In most of the habitats of the fish and invertebrates we keep, wood makes up a large part of the underwater structure. Especially oak branches not only serve the aesthetics in the aquarium, they also offer several advantages. Due to the increased surface of the branches, especially useful microorganisms, the so-called good cleaning bacteria, are offered a great area to settle. Especially invertebrates like to eat this biofilm, but also wood-eating fish like catfish like to nibble on the oak branches, because they contribute to a healthy digestion .

Not only do the branches release humic substances into the water, but also flavonoids and saponins, which contribute significantly to improving water quality. Oak also has a slightly acidifying effect on pH thanks to the tannins it contains, which is especially beneficial for most aquarium animals, as they often come from rather acidic areas.

Our oak branches come from healthy trees far away from industry and roads and have been carefully selected. The untreated branches can be used without hesitation in the aquarium, but also in the terrarium.

To begin with, the dry branches can float up and can therefore be fixed with decorations under water to keep them down. Alternatively, scald them with boiling water and soak them a bit.

Tip: Oak branches are also great for decorating and scaping!

Usage:
1 - 3 branches per 15-25 liters of tank volume. To achieve a fungicidal effect, also significantly more. The branches can be left in the aquarium until complete decomposition.
