Our popular, very exotic looking nibbling cone consists of a woody seed pod of a tropical tree. It is ideally suited as a hiding place for large  and also small shrimps. The cone releases weak tannins and flavonoids into the aquarium water, which protect the mucous membranes of shrimp, crayfish and fish and can have a positive effect on the health of your pets.

Your dwarf shrimp will love the many great hiding places, here they will find retreats and protection especially during the vital phase of molting. The nibbling cone offers hiding places for large as well as for small shrimps of all ages.

The very large surface of the nibbling cone also provides a colonization area for useful microorganisms such as filter bacteria. The filter bacteria contribute considerably to the decomposition of pollutants in the aquarium water. By the way, shrimps and snails love to graze on the biofilms in which they live. So you will get to see your treasures very often, they will love to sit on the nibbling cone and work with their little scissor legs.

Also for wood eating catfish the nibbling cone is great, they will scrape it off with devotion. Your bottom dwellers need the cellulose as important fiber for a healthy digestion, so you should always offer them foliage or wood.

Especially between green aquatic plants, the nibbling cone looks great and underlines the appearance of your aquarium with its harmonious appearance.

We recommend that you pre-water the nibbling cone or weigh it down with a heavy object in the aquarium until it has soaked itself full of water and stays down on its own. From time to time you should lift the nibbling cone and clean the substrate underneath, so that no gamma spots can form in the aquarium.
