The HoleyCoco looks a bit like a coconut half. With this hiding cave you give your aquarium animals a plastic-free, fun and quite pretty hiding place that not everyone has in their aquarium.
The Holey Coco Hiding Cave is open at the bottom and has two large 2.3 cm diameter openings for crawling in and out. The HoleyCoco measures 8 x 8 x 5.8 cm, making it suitable for all ages and sizes of shrimp and dwarf crayfish, for smaller catfish, for South American dwarf cichlids and for young crayfish. Thanks to the two openings, your aquarium inhabitants can get out of the way if they get visitors from other species who want to challenge their cool hiding place. Also super suitable as a hiding place for small to medium-sized crabs in the aquaterrarium!
You can buy the HoleyCoco hiding place in our store either alone without moss planting, or professionally planted with moss for an even more natural aquarium. We use mosses that are particularly popular in aquaristics and thrive in the aquarium: bottle-green, somewhat frilly growing freshwater kelp, particularly finely structured moss ball, classic, somewhat coarser Spiky moss, green lambent, relatively upright growing Flame m oss, slightly overhanging growing Weeping moss, triangular fir-shaped growing Christmas moss or medium green classic Java moss. The mosses can either be easily plucked back into shape with your fingers if the pads get a little too big, or trimmed in with a good pair of plant shears.
The HoleyCoco made of natural ceramic for the aquarium has a natural open-pored surface, which promotes the colonization of filter bacteria and beneficial biofilms. The bacteria work in a similar way as in the filter and provide for pollutant decomposition in the aquarium water. Thus, they can additionally contribute to higher water quality. The biofilms that form on the HoleyCoco Aquarium Cave are also among the most important food sources for shrimp, snails, growth-eating catfish and dwarf crayfish in the aquarium. All aufwuchsfresser graze them particularly gladly.
