In addition to the universally known and popular sweet fig, its green and dried fig leaves play a particularly important role in the aquarium. They are rich in vitamins and trace elements, which also promotes the well-being of dwarf shrimp, crayfish, but also herbivorous catfish. Thanks to their large surface area, a biofilm also forms on them, which invertebrates love to nibble off and also has a beneficial effect on water quality.

In addition, the appearance of the five-fingered fig leaves has a very decorative effect in the aquarium.

Our fig leaves come from unfertilized trees and have been carefully hand selected and gently dried to preserve them for use in the aquarium.

Initially, fig leaves will float up. This can be prevented by scalding the leaves with hot water before use. This softens the cell structure, among other things, making it more accessible to the aquarium inhabitants. In addition, the over-brewing causes a slight antibacterial effect. A possible discoloration of the water by escaping humic substances dissipates quite quickly and is harmless.

Usage:
1 leaf per 20 liters of tank volume. The initially floating leaves sink to the bottom after a few days, where they can be left until complete decomposition. Leaves that have not decomposed can be removed after a few days.
