Cinnamon croissant - hiding place for crayfish and shrimp - 5-7 cm

Cinnamon bark contains astringent (astringent) tannins, essential oils and humic substances that make the water suitable for fish and effectiveagainst bacteria and fungi . Furthermore, mucous membranes are protected and maintained, cinnamon bark can also prevent diseases .
This cinnamon stick is 100% natural and absolutely free of artificial additives.

This 10 cm long cinnamon stick is made of Ceylon cinnamon and thus contains only very little harmful coumarin, unlike the sticks often available in craft stores made of Cassia cinnamon.

In the water, the cinnamon bark swells slightly and rolls up a bit, so that shrimp and small to larger crayfish find a great hiding place here. The bark is very readily rasped off and, in addition to the valuable components listed above, also provides minerals and important fiber. As long as the active ingredients of the cinnamon stick are released, it has a reddish color. This fades after a few weeks.  Then you should add a new cinnamon stick. The "sucked out" stick can remain in the aquarium as a cave or be removed.

The cinnamon stick is sufficient for 100 l aquarium water. For a smaller aquarium, shorten it accordingly with loppers or a sharp knife. Just put the cinnamon stick into the aquarium, it will sink after a short time.
