Wood is a large part of the infrastructure in the habitats of the fish and invertebrates we care for. Birch branches can be used not only to decorate the aquarium, but they also offer a number of positive advantages for our pets. The branches represent a large surface, on which above all microorganisms settle and multiply and affect thereby positively the water health. Invertebrates in particular like to graze on this biofilm, but wood-eating loricariids also rasp on the branches.

Birch wood gradually releases humic substances into the water, which has a positive effect on the health of all aquarium inhabitants. Flavonoids and saponins also help improve water quality. Birch is generally appreciated, especially in natural medicine, for its many beneficial properties.

Our birch branches come from healthy trees far from industry and roads and have been carefully selected. The untreated branches can be used without hesitation in the aquarium, but also in the terrarium.

To begin with, the dry branches can float up and can therefore be fixed with decorations under water to keep them down. Alternatively, scald them with boiling water and soak them a bit.

Tip: Birch branches are also great for decorating and scaping!

Use:
1 - 3 branches per 15-25 liters of tank volume. To achieve a fungicidal effect, also significantly more. The branches can be left in the aquarium until complete decomposition.
